He is stationed with the Air Force at Lowrey Field, near Denver. A baby daughter was born to Mrs. Gwen Jones in Logan Sunday, Dec. 16. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe, of Provo, former Ballard residents, planned to spend the Christmas I holidays with their daughter, Mrs. Jones, whose husband, Dr. LeRoi Jones, died just a month ago. They are most happy with their new granddaughter. Mrs. Marvella Hawkins, of San Francisco, arrived last week to visit with her mother, Mrs. Pearl Swain. Other guests of Mrs. Swain and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Page on Christmas Day were Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Swain, of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Mor-ris Page, of Ogden. Dinner guests Christmas Day at the Dwain Buchanan home were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bowman Bow-man and daughter, Deanna and Dearwyn. Lt. and Mrs. Max Wilkins and daughter, Connie Jean, arrived Dec. 23 from North- Bend, Oregon, Ore-gon, to spend the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Wilkins and family. They plan to' visit here until January 4 or 5 before returning to North Bend, where Lt. Wilkins is stationed. Miss Carma Ellis, who' is making mak-ing her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss, while attending school here, is spending the holidays in Salt Lake City with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin attended the Gyro annual holiday holi-day party at the Newhguse Hotel Ho-tel in Salt Lake City last Saturday Satur-day night. Mrs. Jessie Robison, former co-owner of Robbie's Shop, drove back with the Harrisons to spend the holidays with her sister and brother - in - law, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Harrison. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Wilkins are here to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins. Cal is a student at U. of U. Jay Turner, stationed with the U. S. Navy at San Francisco, ar rived In Roosevelt Sunday to visit his fiance, Melba Richman. He and Melba visited his parents j in Vernal Sunday before leaving I for San Francisco, where Miss Richman will be a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Wheelwright dining din-ing the holidays. Mrs. Wheelwright Wheel-wright is the former Bonnie White, of Roosevelt. I Mr. and Mrs. Lawrell Jensen I are leaving today (Thursday) to attend the Rose Bowl tourna-I tourna-I ment in Los Angeles. While in the coast city they will also' attend at-tend a turkey dinner as guests of the Farmers Insurance Company. Com-pany. They plan to return home January 4. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Page left last Saturday to spend the holidays holi-days in Los Angeles with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vearl Chapman. Pvt. Byron Gilbert arrived home early Friday morning to enjoy the Christmas holidays with his mother, Mrs. John A. Gilbert, and his brothers and sisters. His father left recently on an L D S mission to the southern states. He will report back for duty at Camp Roberts, California, on Dec. 29. Cpl. Clifton Moore arrived home last Friday to enjoy the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Young. He is scheduled to report back at Lowry Field, Denver, on Jan. 1. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Wiscombe and son, Michael, of Provo, enjoyed en-joyed Christmas with Mrs. Wis-combe's Wis-combe's mother, Mrs. Mary El-dredge, El-dredge, and other relatives and friends. Pfc. Cecil L. Mecham is scheduled to report January 4 to his base at Camp Stoneman, California, where he will remain for a month -before going overseas. over-seas. Pvt. Mecham, who' is serving serv-ing with the U. S. Air Force, arrived ar-rived in Roosevelt Dec. 9 to enjoy en-joy a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil L. Mecham. Randy Labrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Labrum was brought home Christmas Eve, after af-ter having spent several days in the Roosevelt Hospital undergoing under-going medical observation and treatment. Erma and Eva Eldredge arrived ar-rived from Salt Lake City last week to spend the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Eldredge.-- Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gardner spent Christmas with her parents par-ents in Salt Lake City. Bert was back at his. place of business Wednesday. Spending Christmas with their son, Robert, and his family in Ogden were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Walker. Mr. Walker returned to Roosevelt Wednesday, but the Mrs. Remained for an extra day's visit and is expected home today or tomorrow. Ha Ruth Zimmerman, a student stu-dent nurse at St. Mark's hospital in Salt Lake City, is spending her vacation here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Zimmerman. Zim-merman. Home from Wasatch Academy, Acad-emy, Mt. Pleasant, to spend the Christmas holidays with their parents are Glen Bair, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Bair; Dick and John Ruppel, sons of Wm. H. Ruppel, Jr; Wayne Fsdlkner, ! son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Faulk-jner. Faulk-jner. Ft. Duchesne; Jimmy Sut-teer.'son Sut-teer.'son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Sutteer, Ft. Duchesne; and Nancy Nan-cy Marimon, .daughter of Mr and Mrs. Bob Marimon, of Whiterocks. Also home is the Marimons' son, Bob, who" is attending school at Occidental College, near Los Angeles. Jack Zimmerman will leave for Fort Worth, Texas next Wednesday on a combined business busi-ness and pleasure trip. |
