Show I Tom Rowley Wins Ag Talk At Roosevelt High Tom Rowley, junior agriculture agricul-ture student at Roosevelt high school, Tuesday won the annual an-nual "Ag Talk" honors in the finals which saw five other young Future Farmers of RHS compete with him. By virtue of his win. Tom Is competing at Altamont today at 11 a. m, with representatives from the other Uintah Basin high schools, Alterra, Al-terra, Vernal and Altamont, who, along with Roosevelt, have agricultural courses as part of their course of study. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Rowley, of Roosevelt (Hancock (Han-cock Cove), Tom emerged winner win-ner from a field composed of Gayle Gilbert, Ronald Zirker, Arcadia: A. D. Shaw. Cedar-view; Cedar-view; Rawlin Spencer. Neola, j and Vard Swain, Roosevelt. The ' contest was under the direction of Kenneth Zirker, agriculture instructor at the high school. According tO mr. z.irKer. me winner of today's contest at Altamont Al-tamont will enter the Utah finals fin-als on March 29. with the state! winner being eligible to enter the national quarter finals. -- Also in progress today at Altamont Al-tamont among the students of the four high schools is a par-imentary par-imentary law contest. Each school is given 10 minutes to demonstrate their skill and knowledge of the art of conducting conduct-ing and presiding at a meeting.! Some suitable award will be! given the winning school. I |
