West Honored at C of C Banquet Approximately 200 local residents resi-dents attended the 1957 annu;il membership banquet of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Chamber of Commerce Wednesday evening, Feb. 27 in Die Timpanogos Stake recreation Hall. Chamber of Commerce President Presi-dent Vern Goode presided and em-ceed em-ceed the program for the evening. Musical numbers w.ere rendered as follows : Little Randy Fisher sang "Young Love," accompanied by her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Troy Fisher; Mrs. Patsy Round sang "This Is My Country" accompanied by Mrs. Gwen Adams and Master Lonnie Olsen played accordion selections. Highlight of the evening w;is the presentation of a Life Membership Member-ship to Junius A. West in recognition recog-nition for his years of community service. Mr. Goode made the presentation pre-sentation which included a bronze plaque, properly engraved. Mr. West has been associate 1 with the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce since its organization in 1922 as the old "Wasatch Club." He has served as mayor of PI. Grov-j, Bishop of the First Ward and .n numerous other church and civic activities. Mr. West is currently president of the Associated Businessmen of Pleasant Grove, a member of the Lions Club and Executive Vice President of the Bank of Plensant Grove. Secretary H. E. Bradley read the annual financial statement of listed receipts of $2,808,85, expenditures expend-itures of $2,558.89 and a bank balance bal-ance of $922.69 as of December 31, 1956. The complete statement is published in this issue of tb' Review. At the election which followel the dinner, directors were electfd aa follows: Lre Swcnson, Max Ferre and David A. Green, tw.;-lycar tw.;-lycar directors and Paul Fordham, Sam Green and Orvil Wadley, one-year one-year directors. Holdover directors are Vaughn Barnett and Calvin Mills. |
