Show Funeral Services For Mrs. Tomlinson Held Last Friday Deeply impressive funeral rites were conducted Friday, Sept. 18, in the Grove Ward L.D.S. Chapel for Eleanor S. Tomlinson, 69, wife of James Tomlinson, who died on Sept. 15, in a Pocatello, Idaho, hospital. The service began at 12:30 p.m. with Bishop Harold Bullock in charge. Invocation was offered by Verl Zabriskie, a neighbor, and was followed fol-lowed by a vocal duet, "Hold Thou My Hand," by Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen. They were accompanied ac-companied by Miss Melba Gardin- er, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Life sketch of Mrs. Tomlinson was read by Bishop Harold Bullock. Bul-lock. Speakers who paid triute to the quiet unusuming life of Mrs. Tomlinson, Tom-linson, of her untiring devotion to her family and her church, and her great faith in the Gospel plan, were President Lewis E. Olpin, Alroy Gillman and Patriarch D. B. Thorne. They also gave good thoughts on life after death, for those who prove faithful. They were interspersed by an organ solo "Softly and Tenderly" by Melba Gardiner. After closing remarks of sympa- thy and appreciation by Bishop Bullock, Mrs. Hilton and Mr. Allen sang "My Jesus As Thou Wilt." Benediction was pronounced by Oscar Evans of the high council. Interment directed by Olpin Mortuary was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Cemetery, where John Fugal of the Grove Ward Bishopric Bishop-ric offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers, all grandsons included inclu-ded Richard Tomlinson. Karl Tomlinson, Tom-linson, Dec Monson, Ernest W. Lavanter, Corydon T. Nokes, F. Dawn Monson, Glen Kirk. Flowers were cared for by the Grove Ward Relief Society. |
