Show Funeral Services for AIRoy Gillman Held Wednesday Funeral services in memory of AIRoy Gillman, 75, who died July 23, 1977 in an American Fork Hospital, were held Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. in the Ninth Ward Chapel. The services were under the direction of Bishop Clifford Hales. Speakers at the services were Jack Hill, Patriarch Merrill N. Wamick, T. Ardie Adams and President A. Clyde Hill also gave remarks. Vocal numbers were given by Beverly Christeson and Alice Myers, Ann Hill, and William E. Petersen. Dorothy Morehead accompanied the numbers. Prayers were given by Morrel W. Gillman, Merlin Myers and Dr. Jay Harmer, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Reed Gillman. Pallbearers were John Phelon, Robert Morehead, Glade Walker, Robert Peterson, Peter-son, Arthur Jones, Richard Budd, and Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Ninth Ward High Priests group. AIRoy Gillman was born ' Sept. 24, 1901 in Lindon, to John Chesserton and Annie Matilda Mott Gillman. He married Eva Bullock Nov. 7, 1929 in the Salt Lake City temple. She died Oct. 15, 1942. He married Florence W. Oscarson May 20, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a farmer and dairyman. He served as watermaster and secretary of the Pleasant Grove Irrigation system. He was elected town president of Lindon for two V terms. He was a member of 5 the group that founded the J Lindon Fair. 5 He was an active member 2 of the LDS Church, serving as counselor in the bishopric A and as bishop in the Lindon 2 Ward. He served as a mem-j mem-j ber of the Timpanogos Stake High Council, superintendent 2 of the Sunday School and j MIA. He served a mission to the Southern States. 5 Survivors include his widow, Pleasant Grove, a son, 2 Larry Boyd Gillman, Sandy; 2 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers J and two sisters, Reed j Gillman, Mrs. Leland 3 (Thelma) Gillman, both Lin-5 Lin-5 don; Morrel W. Gillman, Eucaipa, Calif.; Mrs. Haskel 2 (Rose) Pomeroy, Whittier, 5 California. |
