Show Ml DIES ON DAuCE FLOOR SALT LAKE, Aug. 21. After Bhe j had enjoyed a short dance at the Saltalr pavlllion early yesterday af- j ternoon Mrs Nellie J. McMahon, secretary sec-retary to Captain William Summer-vllle, Summer-vllle, superintendent of the soldiers' home at Qulncy, 111., suffered a stroke of heart failure and died almost al-most in the arms of her partner, Mrs. J. E. Dillon of East St. Louis, Hi. Mrs. McMahon was a widow In her thirty seventh year She had been secretary to Captain Summer-vllle Summer-vllle for a period of eight years and was well known in G. A. R. circles of Illinois i Accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J, E. Dillon of East St. Louis, and Dr. C. E. Ehle, chief surgeon of tho soldiers' sol-diers' home at Qulncy, Mrs McMahon came to Salt Lake several days ago to enjoy a two weeka' vacation. Yea torday they went to Saltalr. Mrs. 1 McMahon began to enthuse over the ' magnificent dance floor and Induced Mrs. Dillon to accompany her In an informal waltz. The dance had Just ; finished when Mra. McMahon fell backward and died. Several Catholic nuns were in attendance at-tendance at Saltalr and ono of them administered extreme unction as Mrs. McMahon, of Catholic faith, was dying. dy-ing. A speedy examination of the cause for death by Dr. Fhle revealed It. to be heart disease. The body was removed to the mortuary of the O'Dounell Undertaking company. It will be shipped to Peardstown, III., the former homo of the dead woman, for burial today. |
