Show STRIKE OF COAL MINERS DEFERRED State Coal Mine Inspector J. E. Pettlt of Coalville, who Is In the city, states that the strike that bad been agreed upon by the miners for September Sep-tember 1 has been postponed until September 7, to give the miners and operators another chance to adjust matters and avoid, If possible, a general gen-eral strike at tho coal mineu. Ho states that the parties concerned are holding a conference at Cheyenne. Mr. Pettlt would not afate his Idea as to he prospects for a settlement of the differences between the miners and he operators, but ho ald ho hoped the matter could be amicably settled. The miners are determined to havo better vvogee for their work and If the mlno owners do not make some concessions In th 1 4 direction, every ruiiier in Utah and Wyoming will be called on a strike at the conclusion con-clusion of tho Cheyenne conference. |
