Show qJociety KITCHEN SHOWER. Among the social events of the week was the one given Thursdav night, when Miss Emma I'nsworth entertained enter-tained at a kitchen shower In honor of Miss Macy Batchelor. who was tho recipient of many useful presents. The evening was pleasantly spent In games and music. The following guests were present: Mrs Martha Bramwell, Mrs. Robert Unsworth. Mrs. T. H. Weaver, Mrs. J L. Phillips. Mrs. J. H Batchelor;, Misses Maude Stone, Rhoda Stltt, Lydla Beus. Mabel Charlesworth, Eva Hettler, Ruth Stoker, Tessa Woods, Ruby Cheshire, Annie Hanson, Myrtle Unsworth, Melba Bramwell and Alice Unsworth BANQUET AT THE VIRGINIA. Miss Juanlta Weaver of Denver gave a banquet at tho Virginia last evening, the affair being one of tho I prettiest events In Ogden's younger social circles during the week. The spacious parlors and dining room wore beautifully decorated with pink nnd white carnations and palms. Among tho guests were Misses Ellen Fitzgerald. Lillian Macbeth. l,eona Paine, Grace Kenyon, Mae Pipe, Ruby Browning, Mae Bell Ames, Mabel Smith, Meda Paxry, Bertha Furcho, Florooce Hlj)ley; Messrs. Heber Scow-croft, Scow-croft, Jr., Harold Parry, Frank Ferrlll, Clyde Clark, Harmon Toory and Clarence Clar-ence Wright, 4. LAWN PARTY. Miss Lydle Roat entertained a merry mer-ry party at the Roat home on Ballan-tyne Ballan-tyne avenue Wednesday evening. Tho large lawn was lighted with pretty Chinese lanterns and effectively decorated deco-rated with red, white and blue bunt-iDg, bunt-iDg, draped from porch to trees. About sixty guests enjoyed the pleasant evening, popular games and vocal numbors by Robert, Benuio and Leona Brown. Watermelons and canteloupes were 6ervel by the hostess, assisted by several young ladles, the guests departing de-parting before the midnight hour. WHIST PARTY. Mrs. S. M. Davis entertained at a whlst party at her home, 2443 Lincoln Lin-coln avenue, last evening In honor of Miss Mabel Knudsen of Rock Springs, Wyo., who Is here visiting her mother, moth-er, Mrs A. D. Dowallby of 2457 Lincoln Lin-coln avenue. Sixteen guests were present and a delicious spread was served In tho dining room, which was artistically decorated with early fall flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Will Eccles returned from a threo months' trip to Europe this morning. Rev. H. D. Zimmerman has returned return-ed from his vacation trip and resumes hU labors Sunday with tho First Baptist church. Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Petty and family fam-ily havo returned from a three weeks' trip to Central, Idaho. Miss Mabel Marsh has returned from her vacation and Is back at her old placo with the la Mode Millinery company. Mrs. Charles A. Tetjeu of Santa-rjuln Santa-rjuln is visiting her son. C. II. Tletjen, of tho Ogden State bank. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rarry, who have spent the summer In Farming-ton, Farming-ton, have moved to Ogden to reside. |
