Show SIX DEATHS CAUSED B! THE SP1ISH INFLUENZA John A. Allen, of the Western Bottling Bot-tling Works, died this morning at 9:30 at his home, 753 Twenty-second street; from an attack of Spanish influenza. The deceased was taken sick six days ago and despite careful nursing and attention succumbed to the ravages of the malady. Mr. Allen was born on October 21. 1SS3. the son of Amnion and Isabel Heslop Allen and leaves to mourn him his wife, Essie R. Allen, his children, Marjory, John A.. Dorothy and Lois Allen, Al-len, and brothers and sisters, Mrs. Agnes Ag-nes Berlin, Mrs. Ada Nelson, Daniel, George, Moroni, Jessie, Lewis, Amnion, Am-nion, Myrtle and Kenneth Allen, -all of Huntsvllle. Funeral directions will be announced an-nounced later. Another Japanese to succumb to Spanish Influenza is Tadaji Honda, of 255 Twenty-fourth street, who died last night. I John R. Purrington died Saturday j night of influenza. Ray A. Linsley, Uniori Pacific engineer engi-neer residing at 2685 Wall avenue, died at the Dee hospital shortly before midnight Saturday of pneumonia. With his wife and daughter suffering suffer-ing of the same disease, E. M. Allen, 2064 Quincy avenue, succumbed to an attack of influenza and pneumonia Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock, at the Dee hospital. He had been ill two weeks. The widow, three sons and one daughter survive. Mrs. Allen's condition is said to be serious. Mrs. A. B, Short, a sister, and John and Floyd Allen, brothers, also survive. Mr. Allen was employed at the Southern Pacific shops. He was a native na-tive of Weber county and was the son of E. and Marion Baird Alien of Mar riott The b.ody was removed to the Lindquist mortuary to be prepared for burial. Eliza Jane Kenslcy, daughter of Jes'se R. and Rebecca J. Kenslcy, of Farr West, passed away at the family home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock of pneumonia, caused from an attack of Spanish influenza, after a four days' Illness. She was born at Farr West August 21, 1901, and is survived by her parents par-ents and the following brothers and sisters; Francis and Reuben, who are now at Nitro, W. Va.; Pearl May, John Irvin, Crosman, Victoria, Lamar Ivan, all of Farr West; Lewis, of Kegglar, !lda.; Charles and Jesse of Subllt, Ida.; Mrs. Carrie Walker and Grace Fackerell of Carter, Wyo.; Mrs. Cora Nelson and Amy Deena of Ogden. Funeral Fu-neral arrangements will be announced later. |
