Show Mt. Pleasant Couple Married 64 Years In observance of the sixty-fourth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hansen, "open house" was held here Wednesday of last week at the Overland Hotel, for friends and relatives. Mr. Hansen, who is the oldest living man of this community, celebrated cel-ebrated his eighty-ninth birthday here on May 11. Mrs. Hansen was eighty-two, June 8. At 1 p. mi a dinner was served in the dining hall of the Overland Hotel, for the members of their immediate family. From 2 to 5 p. m. a large number of persons called to pay their respects. A program was presented during which Mrs. Hansen played the piano and sang songs in Danish and English Refreshments Re-freshments were served by her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Draper and the grandchildren. Mr. Hansen is one of early business men of Mt. Pleasant. He was born) in Denmark, son of Peteu and Anna Hansen, who early joined the Church in their native land and immigrated to America. The family settled' in Brigham City, Payson, and in 1859 moved to Mt. Pleasant. His father helped in building' the fort here. Mr. Hansen was raised on a farm. He freighted produce to the mining camps of Utah and j Nevada. |
