Show BAD CHECK ARTIST IS GIVEN SENTENCE ARRESTED IN DELTA AFTER PASSING BAD CHECKS IN MILFORD W. W. Webster ,of Cedar City, is serving a jail sentence here as a result re-sult of - having written a bad check. He was arrested in Delta last week by Deputy Sheriff Ted Rronholm, at the behest of the Milford Hotel. Webster first attempted to cash a check at one of the local business houses, but was not successful. So he went to the bank, where he was told that it would be necessary for him to secure the endorsement of someone some-one who was known to bank officials. He obtained the endorsement to his check by one of the employees of the Milford Hotel. When it was discovered that the check was no good, complaint was filed against Webster, and he was traced to Delta and there arrested. He was tried before Judge Bert Nichcols, who gave him a fine of thirty-five dollars or a thirty-fivo day sentence. He chose the latter, and is being kept in the local jail for the present. |
