Show BEAVER COUNTY IS BATTLEGROUND BOTH PARTIES HOLD RALLIES IN BID FOR LOCAL SUPPORT Driving home facts favoring the election of political candidates from their party, Republican and Democratic Demo-cratic speakers made Beaver county the battleground this past week. Friday evening, a Republican rally was held at Milford at the I. O. O. F. hall. A short concert by the band preceeded the meeting. William H. Wattis, candidate for governor, W. : W. Seegmiller and Le Roy H. Cox, aspirant for the office of district i judge, were the speakers. County j Chairman Frank Williams presided. ! Music was furnished by the Glee club. I Another Republican rally was held Tuesday evening, in Beaver. John Jensen, Salt Lake attorney and Wattis Wat-tis were the speakersi A great crowd i was present. A social at the Odd Fellows hall followed. Democrats had their inning when M. H. Welling, candidate for secre-tary-of-state, and Abe Murdock, who seeks the district attorneyship, spoke before a crowd estimated at seven or eight hundred. Immediately following this rally, the speakers hastened to Milford where they gave a finale to a Democratic Demo-cratic rally held at the L. D. S- church here. County Chairman Ed Wilson presided, introducing as' other speak-1 ers, Grover Giles, of Fillmore, the candidate for district judge, and also Knox Patterson, of Moab, who is running run-ning for congress. A musical number num-ber was rendered hy Miss Eileen Morley.
