Show Ivan Decker IVAN DECKER, 85, ' died June 7, 1981, in a Las Vegas hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1895, in Parowan to George William and Orpha Bayles Decker. He married Venice Hopkins May 16, 1921, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She died June 11, 1952. He married Retta Graham Draper. Decker was a school teacher, for 19 years in Idaho and Utah. While coaching in Idaho his team won the In-termountain In-termountain State Championship in basketball. In the summers he operated a F-' - -" sawmill and lumber company in Parowan and was also the postmaster for a number of years. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife of Las Vegas; a son, Bruce Ivan Decker, and a daughter, Mrs. Wesley (June) Larsen, both of Cedar City. Also surviving are eight stepchildren; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Laurel Tingen, of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral servies will be today at 1 p.m. in the Parowan Third LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. |
