Show v : OLD CLOTHES. . It is a noteworthy fact that much of the poverty of the deserving poor could be anticipated and prevented by a little lit-tle thoughtfulness on the part of those more blessed with word'' goods. . At this season of the year winter garments gar-ments ;that will certainly be never used again are cast aside for clothing more adapted to the present season. To destroy clothes of this character, the only objection to which is the loss 1 of newness or color or style, in the case of children's clothing, an inability to longer satisfy the need for which they were purchased by their present owners, is a sinful waste. To consign them to clothes' closets, where they will become 'tie food of moths, is prodigious pro-digious folly. Such articles, if for-warded for-warded to our asylums .r the orphans 1 or for the aged poor, or other institutions institu-tions of charity, would greatly assist those in charge of these wards of Christian charity. The donor would Jose nothing, but, in return for his consideration toward -j the needy, woulcf gain the gratitude of those whose lives are, one continual prayer to the God of the poor and the orphan. .
