Show LAB0UCHERE ON THE QUEEN'S VISIT. In speaking of (jucon Victoria's visit to Ireland. H. nry I.abouchere says that the Irish an- Irish and intend to re-! re-! main so. Of course, this will be no news to sensible and observing neoale anywhere but it will be disappointing to those anti-Irish English who fully imagined thai a visit to Ireland by-Victoria by-Victoria would settle forever all difficulties diffi-culties in Ireland. Mr. Labouchere savs that politics did not enter into the idea of the visit on the. side of the people which was all along obvious, nor on the side of the queen which we are not yet quite credulous enough to accept. ac-cept. But wp can all agree with the English publicist that Victoria was not reared in Ireland as the head of the present English government. |
