Show COLORADO SPRINGS. (Special Correspondence Intermountaln CathalicJ Colorado Springs, June 29. Sister Antinfen of the Glockner Sanitarium has gone to Santa Fe. Rev. Fr. Zemp, the able assistant of I Father Bender, has gone to Chicago for j an extended summer visit. One of the two missionaries of St. Louis who had such eminently successful suc-cessful missions at Cripple Creek and Victor has just finished a three days' J mission here. j Miss Mary Smith has gone to make ; an extended visit with friends at i Geneva. New York, j ,t j Miss May Gallagher of Marion, 111., is being entertained by Mrs. J. L. Harbaugh of South Weber street. --. John J. Gillespie, accompanied by his father, has gone east. Mr. Gillespie expects to visit his father's old home in Ireland before returning. Mr. J. E. Dooley and the Misses Eleanor and Margaret Dooley of Wells, Fargo & Co.'s bank. Salt Lake City, are at the Alamo for a few days. I Mrs. P. M. McCurdy and her daugh- ter. Miss Helen, returned Tuesday from i Concordia, Kan. Miss Helen has just been graduated with high honors from Nazareth academy of Concordia. The famous Glackner Sanitarium, which has been so ably conducted by the Sisters of Charity,, has been sold to local capitalists who are to erect a SlOO.OuO building upon the site. It is with the greatest of regret re-gret that Catholics and Protestants alike see this beautiful place change ! hands. The Sisters of Charity have ', been running the Sanitarium for the I past eight years and the good work done by them has been appreciated by i all. j Mr. and Mrs. James F. O'Brien leave during the week to make an extended ! summer visit to Worcester, Mass. ' Miss Grace Himebaugh has just ar- rived home with high honors from the I Nazareth academy of Concordia. Kan. Mr. Himebaugh is the owner of the Alamo and Spaulding hotels and is one of Colorado Springs' prominent c apitalists. Mr. Himebaugh and daughter daugh-ter Irene attended the commencement exercises of the Nazareth academy and accompanied Miss Grace home. Mr. James B. Heffernan of Florence. Colo., and Miss Frances Keegar of Durango quietly hied themselves down to Colorado Springs last week, and unknown to any one except the immediate im-mediate relatives of the bride, had a quiet wedding. Mr. Heffernan is the eldest son of General Heffernan and is almost entirely a self-made man, his father having died when he was but a boy. "Jimmy." as he is familiarly known, has held various responsible positions throughout the state of Colorado Colo-rado and. at present holds one of the most prominent with the El Paso Reduction Re-duction works at Florence, Colo. |
