Show Veterans . . . Q I served in Vietnam and believe I was affected by exposure to Agent, Orange. Can the VA help me? A Yes. The VA is authorized to provide certain health care servcies to any Vietnam veteran who may have been exposed to Agent Orange, it has a continuing program for examining such veterans who are concerned about the possible health effects of Agent Orange. The examination findings are entered into the national Agent Orange Registry. Q My husband, a veteran, died 18 months ago and I purchased a headstone at that time. Can I still apply for reimbursement of the headstone from the VA? A Yes, a claim for payment must' be received by the VA within two years after the permanent burial, cremation, date of purchase of the headstone or services for adding the veteran's identifying information on an existing headstone, which date is later. Q Can a veteran who has donated his remains to science still be eligible for a headstone or marker? A Yes, upon request the VA will furnish an appropriate memorial headstone or marker for the purpose of commemorating the veteran. |
