They appreciate their children and the good help they give and the children are appreciating their father's garden gar-den with fresh vegetables. Daughter, Charlene Hiquera of Orem, spent Labor Day weekend week-end with them and their son, Rhett Wintch of Idaho Falls, Ida. spent the past weekend visiting. Grandson, Randall Kent Spencer of Springville spent Saturday night at his grandparents grandpar-ents home before traveling on to his own home. Richard Ott, formerly of Tropic and now of St. George, wrote to say that they had spent the last few weekends traveling with family. Richard and his wife Julie and children came to Bryce Canyon and camped at Ruby's Inn over the Labor Day weekend. Julie's parents, the Lightner's of St. George, went along with them for the trip. Richard says his kids actually survived without TV or video games. He took his boys over to Asay Creek to see where grand father, Stan Ott, loved to fish. They didn't catch much but went hiking and learned grandpa Ott's favorite way to. fish. Next they went to Ogden to visit Richard's brother, True Ott and his family. Louise Ott of Cedar City and Tropic went with them and it was a nice family get together for all. What lovely weather we are having. Not too hot and not too cold. Enjoyable and that full-"harvest full-"harvest moon" was gorgeous. Were you able to catch planet ', Mars when it was there in the sky so brilliant and red? Earth won't be that close to Mars again; for a few thousand years. I would like to thank all the wonderful people who have been sharing their produce. It is. so good and while we have great 1 big tomato plants there are no' tomatoes. I am sad, but have , enjoyed all the great stuff com-' ing our way. Thanks. A belated Happy 92nd Birthday to Wallace Ott. His family and friends gathered together at Reed's Place and had a birthday party to help Wallace celebrate. Most of his family was able to come and even a few . extra guests. His sisters, Rose ; (See TROPIC on page 6A) i- Tropic News From Page 5A Olsen of Orem and Agnes Littlefield of Tropic were there to sing happy birthday to him. Rose stayed on to visit with Agnes Littlefield for a few days before returning to Orem. Melda Davis, who was a classmate class-mate of Wallace's, was in attendance. atten-dance. Everyone had a great time. Max and Phyllis Stewart were happy to have so many of their family home. They had all come to help Sean and Kim Stewart bless their new little daughter, Kristen. Slate came from Cedar City, Trevor and Jennifer and children came from Kanab and Chance and his family were also here to help bless the new little girl. The grandparents are Max and Phyllis Stewart and Scribe and Deanne Gillies of Panguitch. Great-grandmother is Leona Stewart of Tropic. There were many friends and family members here to wish the new baby well. D.U.P. -(Daughters of Utah Pioneers) held their first yearly meeting in September. There were 14 members and 3 guests present to hear Delpha Rose give the history of her greatgrandfather, great-grandfather, Thomas Price Smith and Vicki D. Syrett give a lesson on Davis County. Carl and Mary-Miller Boyd recently returned from a sixteen day visit with their daughter, Emily, in Australia. They spent most of the time in Melbourne, where Emily works for a Kentucky based feed supplement supple-ment company. The Boyd's made several trips to smaller cities around Melbourne. In addition to a great visit with their daughter, they especially enjoyed the unique birds and other animals down under. Congratulations to Jade Harris on her graduation into Young Women from Primary. She is the daughter of Ron and Susan Harris of Tropic. i |
