Show y .... Area Obituaries I Dale LeRoy McClellan PANGUITCH Dale LeRoy McClellan, 67, of Panguitch, Utah died April 15, 1996. He was born Mar. 8, 1929 in Colfax, 111. to Ivo and Belva McClellan. The family moved to California in the early 1930's where Dale graduated from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School in 1947. He enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean Conflict, receiving receiv-ing an honorable discharge in 1953. In the late 1950's Dale first came to Panguitch with the Ray Callandri family and worked in their Chevrolet garage for a time. He then traveled to California where he worked as an operating engineer in the road construction trades, returning to Panguitch in the late 1970's, making Panguitch once again his home. While in Panguitch, Dale operated oper-ated his own trucking company for many years and also working for Bob Orton Trucking, Panguitch for the James Robinson family at J.R. Ready Mix, Beaver. His mother, Belva Giorgi, who moved to Panguitch in the late 1970's preceded him in death on June 11, 1995. Dale is survived by his brother Kenneth W. McClellan of Paso Robles, Calif.; nieces Billie Dale Dukek of Phoenix, Ariz, and Bobette McClellan of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; nephews Michael McClellan of Livermore, Calif, and Mark McClellan of Solvang, Calif, and two great-nieces and a great- Dale LeRoy McClellan nephew. Dale was a special friend to all who knew him and will be missed. He has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Jubilee House, 409 East 500 South, St. George, Utah 84771. Cremation services took place in Salt Lake City. A memorial service will be held in Panguitch at 1 1 a.m., Saturday, April 20 at the Panguitch LDS 2nd3rd Ward Chapel. Graveside services and interment will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, Calif, under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah. Malen Moroni Littlefield TROPIC Malen Moroni Littlefield, 85, of Tropic, Utah died April 10, 1996 in Panguitch, Utah. He was born Dec. 4, 1910 in Henrieville, Utah to William Waldo and Sarah Savage Littlefield. His family moved to Tropic when he was 8 years old, where he spent his growing up years. He started working at Bryce Canyon Lodge when he was 15. He attended at-tended Tropic High and also Jordan High in Salt Lake City. He married Sara Ott, May 4, 1936 in th St. George LDS Temple. They moved -to Santa Fe, N.M. in 1938 where he was employed at the Santa Fe Indian School. After five years, WWII came and the school was closed. They moved to Layton, Utah and were employed at Hill Air Force Base for 31 years. After his retirement in 1975, they moved home to Tropic. He loved to farm, enjoyed the mountains, like to hunt, fish, and haul wood. He was a talented builder and carpenter. He delighted in raising a big garden every summer. sum-mer. He shared his bounty with family, friends and even strangers who stopped by to admire his garden. gar-den. He dearly loved all people, especially es-pecially his family, friends and neighbors. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities ca-pacities including MIA President, counselor in Sunday School and Boy Scout Leader. He was active in Elders and Seventies Quorum and was High Priests Leader. He enjoyed attending the temple regularly regu-larly and was a home teacher for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sara of Tropic; three children and their spouses, James W. and Susan Littlefield, San Francisco, Calif.; JaNell Cook, Arlington,.VA; Stephen M. and Nancy Littlefield, Farmington, Utah; eleven grandchildren, grand-children, Brent Littlefield, Andrew Littlefield, Byron and Julie Cook, David Cook, Phillip Cook, Lisa and Brady Allred, Amelia and John Toone and Tricia Littlefield; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Clella Littlefield, Las Vegas, Nev. and sister, Amplus LeFevre, Tropic, Utah. He is preceded in death by brothers Ellis W. and Ray Littlefield; sisters Thelma Jolley and Evelyn Adair and two infant siblings. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13 in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Malen Moroni Littlefield Lonnie Pollock presiding and Elder Fred Syrett officiating. The family prayer prior to opening the service was given by James W. Littlefield. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Gwen Brinkerhoff and Karen Ott. The invocation was offered by Marion Littlefield, followed by a musical selection "Not Now, But In The Coming Years," performed by the Tropic Ward Choir. A family tribute was given by Stephen M. Littlefield, followed by speakers Malen Mecham and Stan Mecham. A musical selection "Somewhere My Love" was sung by a musical quartet, accompanied by Gwen Brinkerhoff. Wallace Ott and son, Kim Ott provided the eulogy with Gwen Brinkerhoff and Karen Ott performing perform-ing a piano and organ duet of "O My Father." Memories of Grandpa were shared by Lisa Allred and Brent Littlefield, followed by speaker Layton Ott. A vocal solo, "How Great Thou Art," was rendered ren-dered by Fred Fagergren and accompanied ac-companied by Gwen Brinkerhoff. Remarks were provided by Bishop Lonnie Pollock with Stan Ott provided pro-vided the benediction. Pallbearers were Brent Littlefield, Andrew Littlefield, Byron Cook, David Cook, Philip Cook, Brady Allred, John Toone and Danny Brinkerhoff. Compassionate services were rendered by the sister of the Tropic Ward Relief Society. Interment was in the Georgetown Cemetery with Jack Littlefield providing the dedication of the grave under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons, Mortuary, Richfield. |
