Show UDOT Warns Drivers It's that time of the year again when summer vacation is over and children will be returning to school. That also means that motorists are going to have to be extra cautious and observant when traveling through school zones. The Utah Department of Transportation will be activating all flashing school speed limit signs on state highways, and all other traffic control devices will be in place. "This is also an excellent ex-cellent time to help educate your own children about the hazards associated with highways and automobiles," Art Geurts, UDOT Safety Studies Engineer, said. "About half of schoolage children pedestrian accidents happen after school hours. All the traffic control devices in the world cannot prevent an accident if a child is totally ignorant of the possible dangers there is just no substitute for teaching your children good judgment." |
