The tramps have already begun their southern migration, which is positive proof that winter is closing clos-ing on our heels. Every fall the tie lovers Hock south and as regularly regu-larly as the swallows return they come trooping back at dawn of spring. These movements arc as regular as clock work; they insure them perpetual summer, On warm summer days as many as fifty tramps have been seen at the Brigham depot at one time, basking in the reflected rays of tho sun. But now they only tarry with us long enough to beg a meal, or to fall into in-to the arms of our ollicers at eve., winch means a good night's rest, and, liberated next morning, they plod on their weary way in search of nothing, unless it is a lazy couch in the full glare of congenial old Sol. 1 |
