Show u PRESIDENT PRAISED A Republican exchange has the following words of commendation for the president: "President Wilson has started on another term of four years of the presidency. If he does as well in the coming four years as he has in the past (and most folks believe he will do even better, for he owes his election to no particular party of men or group of men' then, indeed, will the country have been the gainer. He has had the most remarkable siege in the past three years of his first term that has ever fallen to any previous occupant of the White House. The greatest war the world ever saw, has raged, and besides, Mexico, always in eruption, has been far worse than ever before, and being' so close a neighbor has taken the closest attention of the man in Washington. But throus-h all the troubles on both sides or the world President Wilson has kept this country out of trouble. No man has ever had more aggravating questions to contend con-tend with and so great a responsibility at the same time. The people are hoping that the good work that he has started will be continued right through the coming four years and that the great ship of state will be steered clear of the rocks. -n |
