Show JBIMRIES GILBERT BRIGGS Gilbert Briggs, age 84, of Beaver, died April 14, 1979 in the Beaver Valley Hospital. Hos-pital. He was born October Octo-ber 22, 1894 in Beaver, to Joseph R. and Mary Ann Want Briggs. Married Hat-tie Hat-tie LaRue Goodwin, April 4, 1927 in Los Angeles, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, August 10, 1950. Gilbert lived with his family in Frisco, Utah, until about his eighth birthday, after which they moved to Beaver. He has been a resident of Beaver since that time. He was a graduate of the Murdock Academy; a veteran of World War I; and a member of the Beaver American Legion Post 32. He was employed by theU.S. Postal Service for 23 years, retiring in 1964. Many will recall that Mr. Briggs played play-ed in the Beaver Harmonica Band. He was very active in the LDS Church and was a High Priest. He is survived by his wife, Beaver; 2 sons and 2 daughters, daugh-ters, Douglas, Ogden, Utah; Ronald G., Reseda, California; Californ-ia; Donna Rae Newman, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Edwards, Ely, Nevada. Neva-da. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 17, 1979 in the Beaver First Ward LDS Chapel. Interment Inter-ment was in the Mountain View Cemetery, under the direction of the Metcalf Campbell Mortuary. Full military rites were accorded accor-ded by the Beaver American Legion Post 32. |
