Show ZION NATIONAL PARK Zion National Park, July 13. V. M. Tanner, Mrs. Annie W. Atkin and Gloria Tanner were in Zion park for several days as guests of Angus Woodbury, during which time Mr. Tanner and Mr. Woodbury made scientific investigations and collections. collec-tions. Thursday evening Mr. Tanner spoke to the guests at Zion Lodge on the geology of Zion canyon. Mr. Woodbury continued his series of nature na-ture talks Saturday evening with a talk on leaf differention, pointing out desert forms especially. An attractive at-tractive feature of each of these evenings was songs by Miss Idona Jackson, Miss Lucile Worthen and Miss Ezoe Woodbury. A party consisting of T. H. McDonald, Mc-Donald, Wash., D. C; L. H. Hewes, San Francisco, Cal.; T. R. White and Chas. Kinderman, Ames, Iowa; H. W. Lunt, Salt Lake; B. J. Finch, J. 1 F English and Ralph Harrell, Ogden, j were here on the 9th and 10th insts. in the interest of feder.il aid f "t roads in this region. Dr. Charles D. Williamson of Claremont, Cal., is in Zion park collecting col-lecting impressions so that Zion may be included in his lectures on Natur- j al parks. Dr. Williamson gives this i lecture under the auspices of the National Na-tional Park service. I The National Park service has a j new sprinkler tank truck which enables en-ables it to sprinkle the entire road within the park. |
