Show -V ' THE ARROWHEAD TRAIL From a recent article in the Salt. Lake Tribune we learned that Utah State Automobile Association has changed the name of the Arrowhead Trail on all its maps to "Zion Park Highway." The automobile Blue Book just issued for 1921, als designates de-signates the Arrowhead Trail as the "Zion Park Highway." Whether or not thechange of the name is better, we are not qualified to say. But the reason given for the change is not founded on truth? "Many foreign tourists who- go over ov-er the highway," is the argument, "do not know there is such a spot as Zion National Park, for the reason that is has-been known as the Arrowhead Arrow-head Trail." The truth is, not even the deaf of blind are allowed to pass over the Arrowhead trail without learning that there is a Zion Park, that it is one of the world's wonders, that it is on the Arrowhead Trail, with exact ex-act information as to the distance and road to the Park. The real reason for the change in name is that the Utah State Automobile Automo-bile Association does not want to see the Arrowhead trail become the accepted ac-cepted route to Southern California. They take what steps they can toward, to-ward, breaking the trail up. They have another California trail more profitable to them and! to their allies in California. Iron County Record. |
