Show McJIAHO.VS strategy. We are without details of the movements move-ments which have been the result of McMahon's strategic plan.-, and cm only go by their results. Even some of these. as reported, require confirmation. confirma-tion. If, as is stated this morning, he has succeeded in separating the Prussian Prus-sian armies and is ready to doliver a battle, there were sage reasons for keeping his moveiuents secret. If McMahon and Bazaine had been shut up in a net, as has been frequently declared, without the mean? of communicating commu-nicating with each other, there would have been a serious battle before now; for if so cut off they inu.-t before this have been Dressed for supplies, bad their lo-s been as serious and their condition con-dition as bad as news from Pru.-sian sources declared. The IYu-sians seem to be in the condition of ignorance with regard to the French movements, tha the French were with regard to the Prussian movements immediately before and for some time after the battle of Woerth. The I' ru.-sians are in an enemy's country, where every fccrap of information that cannot be gained through spies will be sedulously kept from them, and furnished to the French. That McMahon's strategy has been well designed and .skillfully conducted is proved by the advance on J'aris having been stopded a result of it; for that effect it seems certainly to have had, the sta.cment-i from Berlin to the contrary. con-trary. McMahon must now have an immense force under his command, without crediting the statement that be is reinforced by ten thou-and daily. And every hour wo may expect to hear of a tremendous conflict haying commenced |
