The return of Bishop Brondel from Belgium will be delayed for some time by the illness he has just passed through, and from which, at last accounts, ac-counts, he haa not fully recovered. The bishop has been suffering from bronchitis? and has been at the home of his brother, who is a priest at Dot-tingnies. Dot-tingnies. Belgium. Rev. Father Day received a letter last week saying that the bishop was quite ill. and later a letter came to Sister Mary Lawrence at the hospital, tellinsr that he was improving im-proving and expected to be restored v health in a short time. Biahop Brondel will not start for is home before May 7. for that is the ds-t of the procession of the precious Mood at Bruges, the birthplace of the bishop. The event is one of tha notable ones of the year in all Europe, and thousands flock to Bruges every year to see it. A very enjoyable dance was given on Wednesday evening- at the college hail by the members of A. O. H. Arbor Day Celebration. " Arbor day. May 8, was fittingly observed ob-served by the pupils of the Urusiine Convent with an excellent musical and literary entertainment at the school, corner of Third and Adams street. The m foUowing- programme was given: Instrumental duet, "Mignon," Misses McHale and Kelly. "Jolly Blacksmith," Misses Cotter and Ilensley. "Arbor Day; Iits Significance in the School Room." Reading, "Home, Sweet Home." Miss M. Mcllale. Song, "America," the senior class. Song, "Old Glory," boys' chorus. "A Song Without Words," piano solo, Miss Mary Kelly. Pleading, "Planting of the Apple Tree," by echool. Piano solo, "Napoli," G. Kelly. A talk about trees, senior grade. The school at present is in a very flourishing condition.
