Colorado state president presi-dent of the A. a H., will attend the . ouvention of that organization in Bos-ion Bos-ion next week and will endeavor to secure the next convention for Denver. Den-ver. It is earnestly hoped that Father MaTone will succeed in his efforts, for ueh a convention meeting in the west W'd do much good for the Irish people. peo-ple. Aside from this, Denver is pre eminently the ideal convention city of the United States. Speaking of this in a recent lecture on Colorado, Father Malone observed: j "Colorado is a natural point where converge all the people of the country in conventions. Denver is a great convention con-vention city, not simply because there are features in this part of the country coun-try that are of interest to citizens of other states, but because the generosity generos-ity and tirelessncss of her citizens i3 unbounded when the comfort of her guests is considered. They can't come too often or in too great numbers to be more welcome or unfeasted. She is universally pronounced to be the best hostess of any city in the country, and she is nobly seconded in her efforts at entertaining by her sister cities of Colorado. Record shows that the first convention that ever met in Colorado was one of asthmatics. They had been benefited by the climate and unselfishly unselfish-ly wished to publish the fact to the world. This was about 1S73. Then there was an irrigating convention, and so on until the roll becomes too lon to read." |
