Eureka, Dec. 20 First among the religious organizations of St. Patrick's parish is the Altar society, to which nearly all the married ladies and several sev-eral energetic young ladies belong. The president is Mrs. J. C. Sullivan, assisted assist-ed by Mrs. D. Sumvan. Mr. Albert D. Peterson and' Miss Josephine Jo-sephine Munding were married by Rev. Father Donohoe of Eureka last Monday. Mon-day. Mr. William H. Edward and Miss Ronie Munding asted as groomsman and bridesmaid. The Knights of Mary are those of the boys who have made their first communion. A recent election of officers of-ficers resulted in the choice of Master James Hanley, president; Master Dennis Den-nis Downey, vice president: Master Frank Towey, secretary; Master Timothy Tim-othy Sullivan, treasurer. The League of the Sacred Heart is in a flourishing condition and at pres- snt tMlmlinw oip-htoon Vinn1 nf fiftPPTl members each. Among the promoters who are zealously furthering this excellent ex-cellent devotion are: Mrs, N. Hanley, Masters John Sullivan, James Hanley, D. Downey, Frank Towey and Misses Nellie Duggan, Agnes Shea and Mary E. Sullivan. ? The Degree of Honore held their annual an-nual 'election of officers last Sunday and the following were elected: Chief of honor, Mrs. Mary Hannifin; lady of honor, Mrs. Maggie McPhie; chief of ceremoniea Mrs. Millie Cook; recorder? Miss Nellie Harrington; financier, Mrs. Mary Lewis; receiver, Mrs. Alice Jensen: Jen-sen: usher, Mrs. Agnes Morley; Inner watch, Mrsi Sadie Arrigona; outer watch, Mr. Frank Mlngus, Trustees: For one year, Mrs. Vilate Smithen; for two years, Mrs. Anna Mingus; for three years,-Mrs. Mamie Stack. The sodality of the Children of Mary includes in its membership nearly all the young ladies of the congregation and the young girls who have made their first communion. At the semimonthly semi-monthly meeting last Sunday afternoon the following able corps of officers was elected: Miss Mary C. Sullivan, president; presi-dent; Miss Nellie Duggan, vice president; presi-dent; Miss Katie Cronin, secretary; Miss Nellie Shea, treasurer.- Rev. P. Donahue, director, presided, and after congratulating the sodalists oix their choice of leaders, reminded them of their privileges as children of our Immaculate Im-maculate Mother and exhorted them to be members not only in name, but in deed, but fidelity to all the rules of the sodality and especially by a regular regu-lar and devout reception of the sacraments. |
