Miss Nellie Murphy has entirely recovered re-covered from her recent accident, and i3 again at Minck's confectionery store. Mr. Thomas Gildfta i looking after the business interests of Mr. ilayne during the latter's absence from the Mrs. Charles E. Bott id son Karl of As'pen, who have been visiting relatives rela-tives in this? city during the past month, left last week for Cripple Creek. Mr. Bott has been there for seme time. Matz, bishop cf Denver, presided and performed the solemn ceremonies. B., addressed the audience in Slavonic-Although Slavonic-Although the attendance was not as large as was expected, nevertheless every society of the Annunciation par ish was represented. Rt. Rev. N. C. Matz was assisted by Fathers Gibbons, Saile, Zupan and Perse Father Saile being mas-ter of ceremonies, and Fathera Gibbons and Zupan chanters of the psalms. The document placed i in the cavity cf the cornerstone reads j as follows: Leadville, Colo., Dec. 17. 1S99. I On this seventeenth day of December, A. D. 1899, Rt. Rcv. N. C. Matz, bishop of Denver, William McKinley, president presi-dent of the United States; Charles S. Thomas, governor of the state of Colorado, Colo-rado, Jesse McDonald, mayor of the city of Leadville, and John Perse, pastor of this St. Joseph's church, the cornerstone corner-stone of this edifice was laid with the solemn ritual of the Catholic church. The right reverend bishop was assisted assist-ed by John Uerse, pastor of said church; Rev. J. J. Gibbons, pas-tor-of . the Annunciation church; Rev. George B. Saile, assistant paster of the same church. The right reverend bishop preached in English and Rev. Cyrl Zupan Zu-pan addressed in Slavonic language.
