Since then the people of Minersville Min-ersville have been seeing mad dogs in every bush, and the demand for muzzles has overwhelmed the stores. Last Tuesday the "mad dog" alarm was given, but after much excitement ex-citement it developed that the dog of John Thurley had merely been lamenting the absence of the family, fam-ily, who had gone to Milford. On their return it was found to be perfectly per-fectly sane, in spite of a gun shot wound received when some boys had chased it from town. The people of Minersville have taken a great deal of interest in basket ball this winter and have continued con-tinued to follow the game after the close of the local series of games. The team and others attended the semi final game at Beaver, while everyone who could find a machine drove over to Milford for the championship game between Cedar and Hinkley last Friday evening. The members of the local faculty made up one enthusiastic group of basket ball fans who were present at the game. Mrs. Herrick McQuarrey, of St. George is spending a couple of weeks ,with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hen-ry Hall. , Mrs. Wm. Joseph, assisted by her sister, Mrs. Henry Baker, was the hostess to a party of about twenty friends on Saturday evening, March 3. The affair was a surprise on her father, Hiram Walker, in honor of his 66th birthday. The third grade, coached by Miss Ida Bracken, have been working on a dramatic presentation of "Hiawatha," "Hiawa-tha," which will be given tonight in the meeting house. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burke and family left Minersville last Saturday Satur-day to make their home on the Hurricane Hur-ricane Bench in Dixie. |
