Val Stylet last week end. While here they attended the stockshow. Mastei Brent remained, to visit with his grandparents for a while. Last Wednesday Clark Bishop made a trip to Cedar City to bring back the household belongings of Mr and Mrs. Carlos Bishop who are moving into their home in iHinckkley, after spending the win ter at the BAC. , ., J. Mrs Lillian Roundy and cmuiieu Erma and Paul returned to their home last Saturday after spending a week in California. They came with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thatcher who went on to their home m Provo ' Mr and Mrs. Moine Bond and family from Salt Lake City arrived in Oasis last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bond left their children with the Nichols family, and they went on down to Boulder City, and back thru the canyons. They came back to Oasis for Memorial Day, and picked up their children. Mr and Mrs. Alfred Johnson from Lynnwood Cal.,. and their UHron and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Johnson from Salt Lake City spent Memorial Day in Oasis . They vis-ited with Alf's brothers Gus and Exel Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Petersen, Mrs Alverta Stanworth and Mrs. Ora Lovell went to Provo Wednes-day to attend the funeral of their uncle, Mrs. Charles Maw. Mrs Pearl Anderson and her chil dren, Mr. and Mrs. Theron Ander-son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bremmer, and Mr. and Arthur Dun ford spent Tuesday in Oasis visit-ing at the. home of Mrs. A. P. And-erson. Also visiting at the Anderson home over the holiday was Mr. and Mrs. David Robinson of Long Beach, Cal. Mr and Mrs. Ervin Skeem went to Salt Lake City last Tuesday, where Ervin was to enter the hos-pital for an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark from Provo visited the cemetery in Oasis on Memorial Day. They also visit-ed at the home of Bishop and Mrs Peter Peterson. Little Miss Gloria Day returned to her home Sunday after spend-ing a week in Spanish Fork a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nuz- - man. M.r and Mrs. Nelson and Miss Merly and Miss Laura Hansen of Salt Lake City, spent Memorial Day in Oasis. -- ' Delta Rook Club Met Thursday The Delta Rook Club met the home of Vada Van Thursdav evening. Many little guests were present and cookies and punch were served Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Black spent Memorial Day at Fish Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Woodbury from California, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith from Cedar City, and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Dearden from Gar rison visited last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil War-ner. The Deseret Garden Club met the afternoon of May 25 at the home of the president, Mrs. Ruth Dewsnup. A club calendar for 1950 was made up and committee mem bers were chosen. Refreshments were served. Leaders for the McCullough and year are Darlene Marilyn Callister. LYNNDYL BY MARY TQHNSON , A very impressive Memorial Day) Service was held at the cemetery by the American Legion. A num-ber of our local citizens were pres-ent. The graves were beautifully decorated. Mrs. Willard Stewart and little Ti daughter, Kit, are here from Las Vegas visiting with Mrs. Stewart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clead Niel-- ! son. Mrs. Rhea Whatcott went to Provo Thursday and visited her daughter, Clea, who was in the hospital following an operation. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whattcott. Mrs. C. M. Iivie was in the hospital also. Jim Smith spent the weekend home with his family. Annette has f employment in Salt Lake City. Norman Johnson of Los Angeles .jj is spending his vacation here and in Delta. Little Rex Abegglen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen, had his tonsils removed Saturday. They j' have purchased one of the homes owned by Jerry Nielson. We are glad to have people moving in for a change. Frank Johnson of Hurricane drove up Saturday to get his little granddaughter, Marie, who has .; spent the past year at the Lile Johnson home. Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Nielson of Ogden spent the day visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Nielson Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ashby and : sons of Las Vegas drove up and visited Friday with Mr. and Mrs. 'I Roy Nielson. They drove on to Springville Saturday. vo Monday where she will visit Mr. and Mrs. DeLong Banks, also her sister, Mrs. Logan Morris 'of Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Freer, Mr. and Mrs. Harry McCardell and boys, Bob and Jim, drove to" Salt Lake City for Memorial Day. They will visit Nephi, Provo and Salt Lake cemeteries. Last Saturday the seniors play-ed their first baseball league game They looked very striking in their new suits and won the game 21-- Holden being the losing team. The Pee Wees won their game over Hinckley down there. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills - and daughters spent Memorial Day in Milford. Miss Velda Sheriff is in Center ville with Mr. and Mrs. Olen Sherr, iff. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Woodbury called on Friends Sunday on their way back to Redlands, Calif., hav-ing been up for Memorial Day. m,i Pnhert Huddlpston of Salt A large group of friends attend- - ed the wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse Saturday night at Leamington. Mrs. Margie Walker of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Norda Gardner of Layton drove down for the lovely affair: Mrs. Walker brought word that Art Semmens, and old time resi-- I dent of Lynndyl, fell and broke his leg in three places while work-ing on their new home. We hope for Art a speedy recovery. ' Spike Carlson of Taylorsville and ' his son were here Monday and vis-ited some of his old friends. Sunday, evening Elder Sherman Little brought the program up for church services. Elder Homer Christensen gave a very interest-ing talk of his missionary labors in Hawaii. Mrs. Donna Little sang a solo, "The Holy City," accom-panied by Muriel Gardner. Mr. Little also spoke. Mrs June Alberding and Mrs. Vadna Rule left Monday to re-turn to their homes in Long Beach, Cal., after a week's visit here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern C. Moody. Mr. and Mrs. 'Clay Stubbert spent Memorial Day in Delta with their mother, Mrs. Mildred Will-de- , , Mr. and Mrs. Jay Christensen and family of Milford and Mrs. Pearl Anderson and family of Clear field spent Decoration Day. with Mr. and Mrs. Alma J. Christensen and family. Finlinson have returned home from school to spend the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Brant Peart and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Martin were down to attend the wedding dance Saturday night. Mrs. Rex Peterson and Mrs. Paul ine Lewis spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Quornberg and Mr. and Mrs. Burton Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Rich Finlinson have gone to Huntsville to spend jMemorial Day. Mr.s Margie 'Walker, Mrs. Norda ,Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Oborn were down for the wedding dance and visited with their fath-er and family. Barbara and Bonnie Fielding spent last week in Goshen with their aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Nielson and Virginia spent the weekend wit! Grant. Leamington Mrs. Pearl Nelson A very large crowd attended the wedding dance Saturday night for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse. They received many beautiful and useful gifts and everyone had a good time. Cake, ice cream and punch were served. Mr. and Mrs. Dene Dutson and Mr. and Mrs. William Walsh are spending the Memorial Day week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson. Mrs. Alta Lovell is home again now. She has been in Provo for the past two months for medical treatment and an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Claude McGuire of Salt Lake City are visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Nielson spent the weekend in Leamington visiting with Mr. and Mrs Wallace Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Nielson are also visiting at the home of their parents.
