Show GAME CLUB FAVORS CHANGE IN DEER LAWS License Fees, Extended Deer Season, Method of Fish and Game Administration Discussed at Meeting Here Several problems of interest to sportsmen and livestock men were up for consideration at the meeting meet-ing of the board of directors of the Washington County Fish and Game Protective association at the Dixie college building Monday night. Those in attendance were President Jos. J. Milne, Bryan Lund, vice-president, Mathew M. Bentley, secretary, Game Warden Oliver Stratton, Ranger Benjamin Swapp and Vere Beckstrom of Pine Valley. In response to a letter from President Madsen of the state sportsmen's association, asking for a representative from Washington county at the meeting of the organization or-ganization Wednesday evening, Jos. J. Milne was selected lo represent repre-sent the club and left yesterday morning for Salt Lake. President Milne reviewed events leading up to the business at hand, stating that an .appointment was soon to be made by game commissioner com-missioner and that Mr. Cooke was was favored by many clubs. Discussion Dis-cussion brought out the thought that local officers were in favor of a state board of game control which would review suggestions from a local board in each county, and hence have a workable organization, organ-ization, authorizing the local board to adjust problems imperative impera-tive within the county. Recommendations were made as follows: 1. Licenses A motion was carried car-ried unanimously that the club oppose any increase in present hunting and fishing licenses. 2. Commissioner and wardens The club went on record as favoring fa-voring either the commission form j of fish and game administration j as outlined by the Manti club or that civil service rules be followed in selecting all fish and game appointees. ap-pointees. 3. Legislation on deer It was recommended that the present j board of elk control and the state j game refuge committee be abol- ished and that one commission be : appointed to handle all elk and deer problems with full control and I that this commission consist of j the following: District forester, chairman, head of the state fish j and game department, and one i man representing the agricultural- I livestock interests to be appointed ! by the governor.
