Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Leavitt of Bunkerville were business visitors here the first of the week. Elwood Crane of Salt Lake City was a business visitor here from Saturday until Wednesday. A. Burgess cf Central was a visitor vis-itor here from Sunday until Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mrs. D. I.'Z. Parker of Wolf Hole came in Tuesday for a few days' visit. Mrs. Carl Enke of Riverside came in Wednesday and entered the local hospital for treatment. J. H. Keller of Salt Lake City, court reporter, came down Monday for the January term of the district dis-trict court. Mrs. J. W. Imlay of Hurricane came down Tuesday to be with her husband who is in the local hcspital. W. H. Pace and son Will Pace stopped here for a short time Tuesday while en route to their home in Delta. They have been on a trip to California. Miss Marian Bracken spent Monday Mon-day in Central visiting relatives. She was accompanied on the return re-turn trip by her sister, Mrs. Nell Kay, who visited here a few days. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Baldwin of Enterprise came down Monday and will remain for several days on business. J. M. Taylor of Salt Lake City returned here Tuesday from Los Angeles and is confined to his room at the Arrowhead hotel. Woodruff Cannon left Sunday for Salt Lake City to meet with the state read commission. He returned re-turned Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Snow and daughter, Miss Hortense, spent Saturday at Cedar City on business. busi-ness. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Nutter cf Salt Lake City arrived here Sunday and will spend several days on business. Mrs. A. Y. Milne left the early part of last week for Cedar City where she will spend several weeks visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. L. Z. Johnson of Beverley Hills, Calif., spent Wednesday Wed-nesday night here. Ma-. Johnson is an eminent geologist and will return here next week for an inspection of the local field. H Dr. and Mrs. George H. Erim-hall, Erim-hall, Walter Brimhail and A. O. Smott spent Saturday here on their return trip from Provo. They have been in Phoenix and other parts cf Arizona for the past two weeks. Mrs. Glen Leavitt and Mrs. Lem Leavitt of Veyo were business visitors vis-itors here Tuesday. Reid Prince of New Harmony spent Tuesday here on business. A. B. Harris returned Monday from Salt Lake City where he spent the week end. Mrs. Bert Bradshaw underwent a goiter operation at the Washington Wash-ington County hospital Tuesday. One hundred twenty-five attended attend-ed temple sessions last night. There were seven from Leeds and a few from Bunkerville. The Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Am-erican Legion will entertain at a card party at 8 o'clock Thursday evening, January 29, in the basement base-ment cf the library. The public is cordially invited to attend. Mrs. Anne Price and Miss Mona . Woodbury entertained the bridge club Monday night at the home of Mrs. Price. There were two invited in-vited guests besides the club members. First prize for high score was won by Miss LaPrele Pace and secend prize by Mrs. Vera Karigan. Mrs. Lyle Mecham, Ephraim Foramaster, Miss Laura. Foremas-ter Foremas-ter and Tone Foremaster left today to-day for an extended trip that will take them through Arizona, where they will visit relatives, and into the Imperial valley, in California, thence up the coast to San Francisco. A surprise birthday party was given for Marty Larson at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Riding Rid-ing Wednesday evening. There were twenty guests present, and the evening was spent in games and music after which light refreshments re-freshments were served. Misses Ruby Chadburn, Kola Slack, Icna Woods, Wanda Bowler Bow-ler and Maxine Olsen were among those from St. George who attended the gold and green ball in Toquerville Tuesday night. |
