Show Pleasant Grove Lions Celebrate Charter (light I On Wednesday evening the Lions Club of this city celebrated their Charter night. More than 250 IJons (rotu ftll over the state, as far north jj Brigham City and as far south as yt. Pleasant, came to enjoy this eent. The High School Auditorium and Gym were decorated with the lions colors, purple and gold and a lirss lion, a replica of lion emblem, stood guard over the banquet room. The American Flag held a prominent place in the decorative scheme. The banquet tables were decorated Kith roses and potted plants. The jilver service for this large affair TfMch lent a pleasing effect was secured in Salt Lake. The Relief Societies of Pleasant Grove prepared He banquet. One of the special features fea-tures was the serving of the famous Cold Pack Strawberries furnished Kith compliments by the Pleasant Grove Canning Co. Ex-Mayor Neslen of Salt Lake City sjoke of the value of organization jtd cooperation among clubs and club members. National Director M. M. Nielson resented the charter, in the absence j! Lion Governor P. L. Holman. The icceptance of Charter was made by Jon President Elroy West Other numbers on the banquet program pro-gram were: Address of Welcome by Vice-president A. P. Warnick; read-Jean read-Jean Poulson; vocal duet, "Tab-;t "Tab-;t and Bun" of the American Fork 'ions; clarinet selection; Coulam ad tlalliday; vocal duet, Lehi Lions Ccnlam and Sharp. During the assembling of the guests i band concert was fciven by the Pleisant Grove Band. A standing iilnte to the flag, was given at tie inclusion of the song "America". The evening's entertainment was :oncluded with dancing In the High ickool Gym. , |
