Show Licns Fathers and Sous Meeting Rousing Affair The special. Lions Club fathers and sons banquet held Thursday evening in the stake tabernacle proved prov-ed to be one of the best meetings held in months by the local club. Three long luncheon tables were filled by Lion Club members and cub Ijons. Earl Holmstead, Lion tailtwister and C. A. Gran., vice-president, with their jokes and games, and the various speakers made a real peppy evening for the hundred odd present. President G. S'. Richards was in charge and Vern Holindrake, as chairman of the committee, directed the program. President S. L. Chip-man Chip-man spoke, paying tribute to the Club friv Hk-h'v rirHvilips and the visiiinjr sons. Toasts were also given the boys by Junius A. West and Dr. James M. Grant. Merlaud McGrew and Leigh Iugersoll responded with toasts to fathers. "Tabby and Bun", Lavou Karl and Homer Ingersoll furnished fur-nished the musical numbers. Mrs. Owen Humphries played the accompaniments. accomp-animents. Following the luncheon games were enjoyed for an hour. Each Lion brought his son or some other father's son with the idea of acquainting the lads with the functions func-tions of the club in our community. Lads from two years old to grown sons were among the group. Numbers on the program were real inspirational. inspira-tional. Business of the evening included reports and matters coming up in the future. It was voted to hold a Lions dance during tlie holidays to which the public will be invited and also to stage a play in the Cameo under the auspices of the club. |
