Show CNA Class Starts In Escalante Southwest Utah AHEC and Dixie College Outreach Education are again offering a Certified Nurse's Aid course at Escalante High School beginning on Jan. 17 and going through May 15. The four-month class will be taught by Registered Nurse Sherree Rechtste-iner Rechtste-iner and will be held every Monday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Cost for an adult will be around $355, which includes Dixie College tuition, books, and a scrub uniform. uni-form. High school students who take the course will have their tuition tui-tion covered by Southwest Applied Technology Center, but they will still need to buy the required books and scrub uniform at a cost of around $90. Some traveling will be required for the clinical portion of the class to Cedar City. Transportation Trans-portation will be provided. Individuals successfully completing com-pleting the course will receive five credits from Dixie College, as well as completing a pre-requisite to nursing school. The class includes hands-on experience for job training and will also help prepare students for state certification as nursing assistants.
