Dec. 7, That Weber county has an excellent chance to secure the government tlsh hatchery, which tho United States bureau of fisheries proposes pro-poses to establish In Utah, was tho intimation inti-mation given by R. S, Johnson, assistant chief of the bureau, upon hln departure from Ogdcn after Investigating conditions condi-tions and sites. Tho result of Mr. Johnson's John-son's Investigation throughout the state will not bo known before the expiration of at least two weeks, according to State Fish and Game Commissioner F. W. Chambers. The government official must submit his report, 'together wltlisa recommendation, recom-mendation, to a committee of bureau officials, of-ficials, who will then make a choice of a site for tho Ctah hatchery. The only site which -Mr. Johnson visited vis-ited in Weber 'county was the Joseph Head property near Tluntsvjlle in the Ogdcn valley. This property, which contains con-tains about 100 acres, Is amply supplied with fresh water from springs and the temperature of the locality varies according accord-ing to the seaspn from -14 to C4 decrees. Every condition Is said to be Ideal for tho propogatlon of trout fly and bass. Mr. Johnson was very favorably Impressed Im-pressed with the Read site but was somewhat some-what disappointed when he learned of the distance from a railroad This objection objec-tion was qnlrkly removed bv M.
