Show FIRE SWEEPS HOME; DAMAGE IS. $1000 Residence ofv David Woolf Partly Earned; Children Idgnt Oil Stove, FIro at the home of David Woolf, 1641 South Eleventh East streot, yesterday afternoon did damage to tho extent of nearly ?1000. It -was startod during the absence of both Mr. and Mrs. Woolf, apparently ap-parently through the efforts of small children chil-dren left at home to light an oil Htove. Chief w. H, Bywatcr responded to the call, which came to headquarters at 3:09 o'clock in the afternoon and, with No. 1 motor auto and No. 4 hoso and truck wagons, succeeded in saving part of the house and furniture. The flro was started start-ed In a frame kitchen built in tho rear of the house, which la a. one-story brick building The kitchen was burned with almost everything it contained, and much damago done to tho interior of the rest of the house. Members of tho fire department were at the scene of tho flro for nearly two hours and at the close of an Investigation Investiga-tion of damage done, Chief Bywntor reported re-ported a loas of $500 to tho building and $150 to the contents. |
