Show DOUNERGUE TBG 10 FOfiMIISTiiy May Be Compelled to Take the Foreign Office Himself. PARTS, Dec. 7. Although Senator Gaston Doumergiio will not notify President Pres-ident Poincaro until tomorrow as to whether ho -will tako the respousibilitv of forming a ministry, it iB believed that he wall accept tho task-imposed upon. him. Ho arranged a provisional cabinet this afternoon which included for minister min-ister of foreign affairs either Alexandre Alexan-dre Felix Ribot, Jean Dupuv or Thcop-hile Thcop-hile Dclca.sse. This provod a stumbling Dlock, as neither M. Ribot. nor Du-puy Du-puy would accept the office, and it is generally thought that M. Dclcasse, ' who is now in St. Petersburg as embassador em-bassador to Russia, -will also refuse, in view of the effect his nomination would UIC0I3' bavo on opinion abroad, notably no-tably in Gcrmanj. It is therefore considered con-sidered probable that M. Doumerguo will ovontually tako the foreign office himself, following the example of M. Poincaro when he was premier. Other t members of M. Doumerguo 's cabinet include Goncral Dubail as minister min-ister of war, with General Serrail as chief of staff; navy, M. Xoulons, now undcr-sccrctar3' of war: instruction, M. Viviani; finance, Joseph Oaillaux; commerce, com-merce, -Fernand David; agriculture, Louis Malvy or Maurice Daynaud; colouics, M. Lobrun; public works, M. Lhopitcan; labor, Reno Renault. Modcrato opinion, -while it wuld have preferred M. Ribot, M. Dupu'y or sorao other statesman less committed to advanced views, considers M. Dou-mergne Dou-mergne reasonably safe as premier. There is apprehension among the Conservatives Con-servatives that M. Doumergue, whon in doubt, will accept tho counsel of M. Caillaux, the Radical leader, or ox-Prcmier ox-Prcmier Clemoncoau. The public, especially espe-cially that portion of it identified with finances, vnll bo relieved, if tho political politi-cal crisis can be settled tomorrow. |
