Show MANY STRIKES IN FRANCE RECORDED Paris. Dec 2s According to statistics statis-tics published b tbe Ministry of Labor La-bor there were during 1910, 1,302 strikes in France involving 2Sl,i2.rj strikers. Of these 729 were for higher high-er wages. Of the latter. 1C9 were successful. 2G1 failed and 290 ended in a compromise. The winning strikes raised the average daily pay from 51 to $1.1:;. The 2G4 strikes which failed fail-ed involved the 32,791 strikers Iu a loss, from idloness of $29 per man. Putting all the results together and striking an adrage for the whole. 729 strikes successful, unsuccessful and compiomised. It was found that tho average loss per man for the 93,320 strikes 300 days after resumption of work was over $6 It was only aftor the 403d day the losses and gains balanced bal-anced and that tho incroasod wages could be considered as profits to the striking mass oo |
