Show oo STOUNG BOY FIGHTS TO END FOR FATHER Lomn, Colo., Dec. 28. After forcing a check for $500 from J. E. Quean of the Loma Canning company, Jesse D. Hensley and his 15-year-old son, Joseph, Jo-seph, stood off three deputy sheriffs for two hours in the .Main street here yesterday afternoon A bullet killing the sonr the father surrendered, charged charg-ed principally with resisting officers. He is beUeved to be insane. Last year Hensley plowed under contract for Quean. The latter declared declar-ed the work was unsatisfactory and refused to pay. Yesterday afternoon Hensley and his son. armed with a shotgun and a revolver, entered the canning factory and demanding $500, marched Quean across tho road to a lumber concern, whero they forced him to write a check for that amount. Meanwhile Deputy Sheriff Nichols had been summoned and arrived just as the check was signed, with a posse. Hensley and his son opened fire on the sheriff '3 posso and a battle was on for two hours, the sheriff's posse and Hensley firing from the protection of lumber piles. Finally young Hensley, mortally wounded, stagger.ed into the open street and dropped. His father ran to him and, kneeling by his son, continued con-tinued the battle, shooting at random until his ammunition gave out when tho deputies closed In and overpowered overpower-ed him. |
