Show Chamber Kicks Off Winter 77 - 78 Mayor Leon Uriarte, Police Chief Garth Wilkinson, and councilman-elect Bob Wells were some of the many Park City residents attending the Chamber's Cham-ber's Winter Kick-off. The annual event was held at the C'est Bon Friday night. Some of the other prizes given away included a $100 savings account at Silver King Bank, won by Mike Feezer, a season ski tune-up and hot wax from Stein Eriksen's shop at the resort, won by Anita McDonald, and Steve Chin received a free tennis clinic from Park City Racquet Club's touring pro, Ray Moore. And for his extraordinary promotional efforts, the Resort's marketing director, Craig Bada-mi, Bada-mi, received a "Jupiter Bowl" from an anonymous "Star Wars" character. Over 400 people showed up for this year's Winter Kick-off sponsored by Park City Chamber of Commerce. There were many prizes given away ranging from a week for 2 vacation at Sun Valley, Idaho to 5 banana splits at Miner's Delight on Main Street. Three special awards were given "to businesses in town who have significantly contributed to Park City's economy. Jere Calm-es Calm-es received an award from Dick Wilde on behalf of the Racquet Club. Schick Sunn Classic Pictur es and the Alpine Slide also received recognition and were given plaques. The trip to Sun Valley was won by Fred Calmes and Lloyd Stevens will enjoy 5 banana splits at Miner's Delight. Stevens also won a 4 month membership to the spa in town. Sue Durrington's raffle ticket was drawn to the spa membership as well. The raffle drawing lasted over 2 hours. The executive director of Utah Ski Association, Rival Puseth, will go to the Spring Chicken Inn for 21 pieces of chicken. Ken Oswald won a season ski pass to Park West. Fred Martinez also won a Park West ski pass. Another ski pass, this one to Parley's Summit, was received by John Nielsen. Laurie Tisch won not only an hour's massage from Dr. Billy Groves, but also dinners at the Mount Air Cafe from November 11 to December 11 (good luck!). Park City Maintenance will give Ray Ingandala a full day's service. Although Ray's raffle ticket was drawn, it was admitted the prize was originally intended for a lonely housewife. Deanna Carpenter won a trip to Snowbird Resort for 2 nights. She will stay at one of the 4 lodges, receive lift passes, and a dinner at The Steak Pit. During the raffle drawing long lines formed at the buffet table for dinner, which included chicken chick-en and beef entrees as well as an assortment of salads and vegetables.
