Since that season, however, one area of the country or another has experienced experienc-ed severe drought conditions causing the NASTAR numbers to deal ineM. Last season, areas began to re-enroll for NASTAR and this winter strong participating from new areas east of the Rockies accounts for the new record. "NASTAR's success," according accord-ing to its marketing director Peter Kirkpatrick, "is due to increased marketing sophistication at the ski area level." Kirkpatrick believes, "ski areas have found more ways to make NASTAR a profit-making venture and as a result they have become more interested in the program." |
