Show Gorgoza Resort Issued Use Permit Parley's Summit Resort, previously prev-iously known as Gorgoza, was issued a conditional use permit last week by the Summit County Planning Commission. A public hearing on the development was held prior to the approval, but no one showed up to express any objections, according accord-ing to County Planning Director Max Greenhalgh. Developer Bill Coleman, one of several men behind the plans to revitalize the long-dormant resort, re-sort, asked the commission for a conditional use approval including includ-ing various activities planned for next spring and summer. The proposed activities include Alpine Slides, horseback riding, a "Lemans" go-cart track and a skateboard park. Coleman was told that not enough detail had been presented on the summer activities and was issued a one-year permit for the ski lifts, lodge and ice skating rink. The developers must return to the commission for approval, and additional public hearings, concerning con-cerning the summer activities and a renewal of their permit for next winter. |
