Ottley Soot-Lighted By Paint Magazine Warren Ottley, jovial Sugar House business man, received recognition re-cognition this month in a national magazine for his keen sense of humor in advertising, his expansion expan-sion program just completed, and the new payment plan recently developed for his business Warren just completed a remodeling re-modeling and expansion program which increased the store to twice its size and added a color selection studio and re-decorated the store throughout. The Paint Pot is the oldest paint (Continued on Page 9) Warren Ottley (Continued from rage 1) store in the city to operate continuously contin-uously in the same location. It has been in Sugar House at 2157 Highland High-land Drive, where it was founded by Warren's father, Sidney J. Ottley, Ot-tley, 23 years ago. The article, "Signs Humorous and Serious Help Ottley's Sell More Paint," in the Paint and Wallpaper Dealer mentions many Warren created for the interior and exterior of his store, large prominent ones along with the small but mighty ones. And in all is mentioned Warren's humorous method of advertising. Knowing Warren, this is not an advertising gimic either, for his personality is injected with a sincere friendliness friend-liness sparked by his fine and keen sense of humor. Warren's slogan on the new payment pay-ment plan, "Paint Now-Pay Later" wasn't mentioned in the magazine article (and we feel it's too good to keep) for he invariably transposes trans-poses his slogan to read, "Pay Now-Paint Later" ... a slogan we have considered adapting to the printing business. Active in the Sugar House C of C Warren is interested in civic affairs af-fairs and takes a prominent part in his church offices. He and his wife Elizabeth and family make their home at 48 South and At-wood At-wood Boulevard. |
