Show BRITISH NAVAL AND ROYAL AIR FORCES LANDED IN OSTEND LONDON, Oct. 17. Admiral Keyes of the British navy landed at Ostend this afternoon, says an official announcement from tho admiralty. The admiral was preceded by members of the Royal air force, who landed at Ostend this morning. French cavalry patrols, says the Evening Eve-ning News, reached Ostend today and returned re-turned with the report that no Germans were to be seen there. The admiralty statement reads: "Royal air force contingents working with the navy landed at Ostend this morning morn-ing and reported it clear of the enemy. Vice Admiral Sir Rogers Keyes, commanding com-manding the Dover patrol force, landed at Ostend at 12:55 o'clock this morning." Belgian forces, under command of King Albert, which crossed the Yser river, are inarching on Ostend. The Belgians also made progress in the region north of Thou rout and advanced in the direction of Thielt. |
