Show M QUARANTINE ! AT POST IINTAI0 Medical Officers Indorse Moves Taken by Utah Health Boards. Military quarantine regulations are being be-ing rigidly enforced at Fort Douglas, both with reference to persons entering and soldiers going out, and it is hoped that the precautions will aid in checking the influenza epidemic. The military medical authorities say they believe in the efficacy of closing and quarantine regulations and they are thoroughly thor-oughly in accord with the state health authorities In the methods put into effect ef-fect to check spread of the disease. The medical authorities also believe in 'effectiveness 'ef-fectiveness of medical treatment, even in the most extreme pneumonia cases, and they are bending every effort, both m the way of preventive measures and treatment, treat-ment, to conquer the malady. A total of thirty-seven cases of influenza influ-enza were admitted to the post isolation hospital yesterday. Of this number, six were from the University of LTtah student army training corps and thirty-one from the commands at the post. There was no death yesterday and it was reported from the hospital that all of the cases in the institution were doing well. Judging from the decrease in number of cases from the university Training corps, the disease is wearing Itself out in this organization, it is believed, but It appears to be slightly on the Increase among the men at the post. This is characteristic of the action of the disease, dis-ease, it is said by those who have watched its progress at other places, it has a peculiar faculty for working Its way through one organization and then another, an-other, even though the organizations be separated. |
