Miss Janice Nelson, daughter of Melvin Nelson, was taken to the Lehi hospital Monday where she was op-, orated on for appendicitis. She isj improving nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hooley spent Saturday at Lark visiting M'r. and Mrs. Rulon Robbins. On Sunday they visited at Magna with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kirk. The class of 1920 of the Pleasant Grove high school and their partners enjoyed a reunion at Saratoga Friday evening. An enjoyable swim and a sumptuous picnic luncheon were the main features of the party. Mr. and Mrs. Robert R, Thorne and family of Provo, were the guests of relatives here Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson of Garfield, were the guests of (Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shoell on Decoration Day. Miss Florence Trip and Mr. Moyer of Murray, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Shoell Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Halliday of Salt Lake, visited Thursday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Adams. Mrs. Jean A. Holman Mrs. Mary Cooper gave the Social Service lesson at American Fork last Tuesday to the Relief Societies of the ' four wards. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Thorne and three sons of Magna, spent Decoration Hay in Pleasant Grove, the guests of Mrs. Thome's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Oleon. Mrs. Hannah Robinson Byard, Florence Flor-ence Robison, Aleen Nelson, Mrs. Minerva Bardsley of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. L. L. Nelson of Provo, were the guests of Mrs. Regina Thorne on Thursday. Miss Eva Clark entertained at a trouseau tea Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 6 p. m. at the home of her sister. Mrs. O. E. Grua. One hundred Dclbert Fugal was called to Cedar City Saturday to attend the funeral ot a missionary friend he met while in California. Mr. Fugal was one of the speaker at the services. The Beehive Girls of the Manila word held a meeting recently and selected the scrap books of Miss Elva l'.ves and Lucy Wadley to represent the Stake. Mrs. I,eone Told and her mother, Mrs. John C. Nelson, accompanied by Mrs. Leah Holindrake of American Fork, attended the funeral of Dean Oler, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Oler formerly of this city, on Sunday, May 19. The boy's death was J caused by a ruptured appendix. and twenty-five guests called during the afternoon. Mrs. Eliza Lewis, mother of Mrs. Mary Cooper, and Miss Ruth Lewis, a sister of Mrs. Cooper, spent the ; week-end at the Cooper home. Miss ; Lewis is company nurse for the j Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Salt I.ake. She returned home Tuesday. Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Frainpton announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, daught-er, Ora, and Thomas Powers of Lehi to take place June 5 at the Salt Lake Temple. The bride is one of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove's most popular young ladies. The young couple will make their home in Lehi. and family of Salt Lake, were the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Artemus Holman, on Thursday. (Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jenson, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ririe and baby son of Canada, and Mrs. Rondo" Robinson of Salt Lake, visited this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Adams. Tlie Windsor Ward choir held a swimming party at Saratoga Friday evening. After the swim a picnic luncheon was enjoyed. Calvin Walker son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Walker, Reef Wadley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wradley, and Russel Keetch, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Keetch, were graduates of the Agricultural College at Logan and received re-ceived B. S. Degrees at the graduation gradu-ation exercises last Friday, May 24. Principal S. D. Moore, Jr., and his Seminary graduates enjoyed a sight seeing trip to Salt Lake Monday. They attended an organ recital at the tabernacle, tab-ernacle, visited Pioneer Park, Liberty Park, and the State Penitentiary. They enjoyed the evening at the Pan-tages Pan-tages Theatre. |
