Mrs. Hazel Maloney of San Francisco, Francis-co, California, is enjoying a two weeks vacation in this city at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Margaret Robinson. Rob-inson. Mrs. Dell Singleton, and daughter, Elma, Mrs. Kenneth Singleton and baby and Mrs. J. L. Mower motored to Springville Decoration Day, where they visited relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Chester C. Myers and daughter of Logan, called at the home of Mrs. Lytie Wilde Tuesday, enroute to Salina for a short visit, Mrs. Willard R. Johnson and daughters, Gail and Varda, and son, Floyd, of Aurora, visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby and family. Mrs. Alice Smith and family of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. J. W. Carter and family of Taylorsville, spent Decora tion Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W". C. Boley. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Murdock are the happy parents of a fine baby boy born Tuesday. Firmage home, while Mr. Firmage made a business trip to Cedar City, where he helped organize the Elks Lodge being be-ing installed there. Mr. Firmage is the Exalted Ruler of the Logan Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. J. ,L. Firmage and family left Thursday evening for Wisconsin and other eastern points, where they will be gone two weeks Mrs. Firmage and children will remain re-main in Appleton at the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Whitman, while Mr. Firmage and two sons, Harold and Hoag, make a business trip to New York. The M. I. A. officers and teachers of the Third ward together with the ward participants in the musical and public' speaking contests enjoyed a party at Saratoga Tuesday evening. The affair was also in honor of Miss Donna Durrant, Miss Bessie Collins and Roland Ashby, who are leaving the ward. Swimming was the main diversion, after which a picnic lunch was served. There were forty present. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Iee Attended the funeral services of Ilyrum Stead-man Stead-man held Sunday in Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Nicholes and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes, were business visitors in Provo Monday. Miss Beth Nelson returned home Sunday from Bingham Canyon, where she spent ten days visiting friends. Mrs. H. M. Christensen and family of Elwood, visited this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Abel. Mrs. Phell Meecham and two daughters of Standardville, were Deco ration Day visitors at the Nephi Howes home. Miss LaRee Chipman, who has been teaching school in Heber, returned home last Friday evening for the summer months. Miss Ruby Steele returned home Sunday from Salt Lake City, where she spent ten days visiting a friend, Miss Fern Downey. Mrs. Agnes Cunningham of Burley, Idaho, spent several days last week visiting with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Makin. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Leo Nelson, who has been teaching the past year in the high school at Rigby, Idaho, arrived home Saturday. He will leave June 8 for Logan, where he will attend summer school at the U. A. C. A tour of the poultry plants in Draper will be made sometime, in August by the poultrymen of Utah county, according to Rudolph Konold, president of the American Fork Poultry Poul-try association. The Bee Orchis ladies were delightfully delight-fully entertained last1 Thursday afternoon after-noon at the home of Mrs. Sid Nicholes, Jr. Following an afternoon of needle work and social chat, a dainty luncheon lunch-eon was served to thirteen ladies. Tulips were used in the house decorations, decora-tions, and the luncheon was carried out in a color scheme of yellow and white. Special guests were Mrs. Samuel Kelly of Provo, and Mrs. Marion Christensen of this city, A diamond Bet gold medal was awarded last Friday to Merrill Clay-son Clay-son for four years' service as a member mem-ber of the Brigham Young university band. Mr. Clayson is the son of EH J. Clayson of this city, and has been teaching at the Provo high, school for the past year. Two $50 scholarships, presented by J. L. Firmage of this city were awarded to Guy Ritchie and Walter Peterson, band members, and one $50 scholarship presented by Mayor Van Wagonen, was divided between Lewis W. Christensen and Donald Colby. Prof. Robert Sauer, director of the band, made the presentation of the Firmage scholarships in behalf of the donor. Mrs. Harmston was elected president of the federation to succeed Mrs. Mabel N. Fry of Ogden. She is a sister of Mrs. Peterson's. The Primary officers and teachers of the Fourth ward held their monthly month-ly preparation meeting Monday evening even-ing at the home of Mrs. Warren Anderson. An-derson.
